As a community we have come a long way since September 11, 2001. We want to continue the positive journey of building relationships across our community and giving hope at an interfaith gathering to be held Sunday, September 11, 3:30 pm. Everyone is welcome.

Lehigh Dialogue Center organized this year's Interfaith and Friendship Ramadan Dinner at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, Fogelsville, PA, on Thursday August 25th.

There were around 170 attendees to the dinner from our community, including elected officials, religious leaders and community leaders.

Rep Douglas Reichley and Rep Charlie Dent were also at the event.

The theme for this year's dinner was The role of Civil Society in building a stronger, peaceful world.

The evening started with Kadir Veziroglu's speech briefly about LDC and its activities.  Ellen Millard-Kern, Chief of Staff for Senator Pat Browne presented a Certificate of Recognition to Lehigh Dialogue Center for its contribution to Pennsylvania's fundamental values of mutual respect and compassion.

The keynote speaker Dr Mustafa Gurbuz, who is a Phd Candidate in Sociology, talked about altruism in the context of the theme.

Then Dr Walter Wagner was awarded Dialogue Award for his contribution to Dialogue in our society.  The award was presented by Rep Douglas Reichley.

After Quran recitation and Athan, the call to prayer by our Religious Instructor Muhammed Aktas (Imam), Iftar dinner was served and the evening closed with closing remarks from Rep Charlie Dent.
